I haven't done a nail polish post in a while. To be honest, I stopped wearing nail polish for a few reasons. First of all, my nails were super fragile and if I painted them they would be more prone to breaking. Plus, I haven't had much time lately to do my nails. Being so busy with school assignments and work, by the end of the day I'd feel exhausted and the last thing on my mind was an at-home mani. But the main reason I refused to do my nails was because of an article I found at the EWC website.

Blue jeans

The reason I don't do monthly favorites is because some of these items can be my favorites for a longer period of time. My previous favorites post was in back in December --which I admit, it has been too long (how did five months pass so fast?). Perhaps I should start posting these every other month or so.

So here are the products that I've been loving lately:

  • Tea Tree BB Cream by The Body Shop: I don't recall if I've mentioned this one before, specially since I've been using it for quite a while now. It's the best BB Cream I've tried, it has plenty of coverage which makes it work just as well as any regular foundation. The downside is that it doesn't have any FPS, so it's important to apply facial sunscreen before hand.
  • Kerastase Masque Elixir Ultime: This smells amazing! I usually use it in the middle of the week in order to give my hair an extra hydrating boost. I've applied it after shampooing and allowed it to sink in for about 8 minutes. Although it doesn't reduce volume, my hair turns out shiny and extremely soft. Worth the purchase. 
  • Sleeping mask: It's been years since I've used one of these. Last week while looking around Zara, I came across it and decided to buy it. It has helped me get a better night sleep, considering that the curtains I own are kinda sort of sheer which makes the streets light illuminate my room at night. 
  • "Daring Greatly" by Brene Brown: From time to time, I come across books for my course lessons that end up being helpful for personal aspects. Well, this is one of those books. It teaches how to identify and overcome vulnerability. It also opens your eyes to see things from a whole different perspectives --that it's important to embrace your imperfections and accept things as they are.

Favorites

 Hello there! So I've been struggling with frizzy hair ever since I can remember. I've tried just about everything on my hair. Some of it has worked, but my laziness and lack of consistency on these methods made me go back to the same dry-looking and voluminous hair. Today I decided to give another chance to homemade masks. I had tried mayo by itself before, and I didn't see much improvement. Plus, my hair ended up smelling pretty bad! But this time, I decided to do it differently:

You only need three ingredients:
  • Two table spoons of mayonnaise (normal or light)
  • One table spoon of honey
  • One egg
Mix it all together in a bowl and apply it to damp hair. I've noticed that the ingredients get absorbed much easier that way. Then you can tie it up and put your hair in a plastic shower cap and use your hair dryer to heat it up. This will make the conditioning even deeper. Leave it on for 20 or 30 minutes and rinse it off with shampoo. I had to wash it twice in order to eliminate residues completely, and then I applied conditioner as usual.

I also recommend using other ingredients like avocado, bananas, mango, olive oil --gosh, there are so many things sitting in the kitchen that can be used for treating your hair. I'll be posting more often about these quick and easy hair masks.
